DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT REVEALS A FRESH TAKE ON THE ICONIC FRANCHISE

In the aftermath of E3 2019, one of the new titles revealed created a mega storm of buzz and excitement; the reveal that the new action RPG game from Bandai Namco formerly known as Dragon Ball Game - Project Z is now Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. The first trailer for this exciting new game premiered at Microsoft’s E3 press conference on June 9, 2019. Early demo kiosks for the game was also set up for attendees in the Bandai Namco space within E3.

In Kakarot, which is the Saiyan birth name of Goku – the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series, you will explore the universe of Dragon Ball, dive deep into landscapes and classic early story arcs from Dragon Ball Z. Though this time, the action-RPG will be focused on solo combat and will be a fresh take Goku’s story as the style of the gameplay, open world play and battles will help vitalize these classic story arcs. The game will be published by Bandai Namco and developed by Cyber Connect 2.

 

Original Dragon Ball creator, Akira Toriyama, also excited fans by sharing an open letter posted by Bandai Namco. In it, he shares that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will feature brand new backstories that have never appeared in the series or even the manga. He also shares that the new game will be a fresh take on the franchise while also re-living the early moments when Goku discovered his Saiyan bloodline and his birth name, Kakarot. He also promises unrelenting and fierce battles with cutting edge visuals. Fans will be able to live as Goku; training, fishing, eating, flying, exploring and battling through the iconic DBZ sagas and villains such as Raditz and Vegeta.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is set arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2020.
