THE MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE GOES SUPER WITH THE ADDITION OF GOKU!

It’s official. The world of Dragon Ball will soon be showcased on the national stage when the legendary hero, Goku, makes his debut in the 92^nd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year! Goku in his Super Saiyan Blue form from the anime series Dragon Ball Super will be the newest balloon in a lineup that is populated with other iconic characters such as Charlie Brown, Spongebob Squarepants, and Ronald McDonald.

An annual tradition that began in 1924, the massive three-hour event of the Macy’s Parade will start its course from the heart of Central Park in Manhattan to Macy’s Herald Square. Goku’s balloon will stand at over 50 feet tall, float through New York City by about 90 parade handlers, while being watched by millions from the ground and on national television.

The road to the final design of the balloon was a meticulous and intense process in order to give Goku a posture and expression that will be the perfect depiction of the character for his parade debut. Representatives from Toei Animation worked with Macy’s Studio artists to finalize the clay model design of Goku based on drawings and color palettes. Many adjustments and versions were made before the final version of Goku was decided. The process took 3-4 days.

NEW RPG GAME ANNOUNCED FOR 2019 IN HONOR OF DIGIMON ADVENTURE'S 20th ANNIVERSARY

In celebration of the 20^th anniversary of the classic anime Digimon Adventure, Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the new release of the survival RPG game, Digimon Survive, following on the heels of the latest game in the series, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory, which was released on PS4 and PS Vita.

FIRST LOOK AT THE ‘DRAGON BALL SUPER’ MOVIE REVEALS THE BEST IS YET TO COME

In December of 2017, Toei Animation announced that the 20^th Dragon Ball feature film was “in production”. Now, the official website for the 20^th film has been released, along with a tentative title, Japan release date, a new look at Goku, and new comments by legendary Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama.

The new Dragon Ball film is slated to arrive in Japan on December 14, 2018. The new visual of Goku has a tagline that reads “’Super’ movie version begins.” Fans can now explore the official website, http://dbmovie-20th.com, for more upcoming news and visuals.

The movie is tentatively titled “Dragon Ball Super” with original script,  screenplay, and character designs from creator Akira Toriyama. The director of the film is Tatsuya Nagamine, known for his direction on Saint Seiya Omega, One Piece Film Z, and episodes of the Dragon Ball Super anime series. Coming back to the Japanese voice of Son Goku is celebrated voice actress Masako Nozawa. 

Mazinger Z: INFINITY Debuts in US Cinemas This February

Celebrate the 50^th Anniversary of one of the most revered sci-fi properties in Japan with the premiere of the new mecha anime feature, Mazinger Z: INFINITY. Toei Animation Inc. and VIZ Media, a premier company in the fields of publishing, animation distribution, and global entertainment licensing, have together announced the North American rights of the feature film, which was produced by Toei Animation.
